2ND RACE, 2nd PODIUM: THIRD PLACE IN LE CASTELLET

ROWE RACING extended its winning streak with a strong showing at the 1,000 km race in Le Castellet. In the second race of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, Marco Wittmann, Philipp Eng and Nick Yelloly in the #98 took third place, extending their lead in the drivers' and team standings after the opening victory in Monza.

In total, the #98 BMW M4 GT3 recorded more than 50 lead laps. It was only in the final hour that Yelloly was no longer able to keep up the high pace of the two Mercedes placed in front of the ROWE RACING BMW at the end, but stayed on the Audi in front of him. As this Audi received a 5-second time penalty after the end of the race for violating the track limits, the trio in the #98 moved up to third place.

The sister car, the #998, also had a strong race, with Neil Verhagen, Dan Harper and Max Hesse working their way up from 16th on the grid to finish sixth after six hours of racing.

For ROWE RACING, it was the fifth podium result across the series in the last four races after third place at the third round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, the double victory at the GTWC opener in Monza and second place at the 24h Nürburgring.

HANS-PETER NAUNDORF, TEAM PRINCIPAL ROWE RACING:

“This was another fantastic performance by our team. All the drivers were flawless, without penalties or collisions. In the final stages, the two Mercedes cars were simply too fast for us. However, we are very satisfied with third place because we gained valuable points and expanded our lead in the overall standings."
